The Seven Towers Male Voice Choir is based in Ballymena, County Antrim, an ancient market town on the coach road between Derry and Belfast. The members however are drawn from a wide area. The weekly practices are normally held at the Bowling Club, Old Ballymoney Road, on Mondays at 8.00pm from September to April.
New members will be made especially welcome.
It is with much pride that we are congratulate our Musical Director, Thelma Strange who was awarded the British Empire Medal, BEM for voluntary services to the Seven Towers Male Voice Choir in the Queen's New Years Honours list. Thelma has enthusiastically led the choir to perform a wide range of music each year at our annual concerts and at various venues for over 25 years and it is rumoured she has been associated with the choir for a few more. We are deeply indebted to her for guiding us and making sure we give of our best.
Well done Thelma, you fully deserve this award and no doubt we will need to find our music for "Congratulations "
At our Annual Concert in 2017, the Choir launched their new CD entitled "Hearts and Voices". It includes twelve tracks of our recent pieces including new pieces such as My Heart Will Go On and some of our favourites such as Ed Lojeski's arrangement of Amazing Grace. Copies can be obtained from any choir member.
The choir sings a wide range of secular and sacred music, both classical and modern. The concerts raise funds for national charities and also support smaller local ventures. The Choir has performed in the past to a wider audience in Ireland, Great Britain, Germany and Canada.
Our next Concert will be held in Glenavy Methodist Church Hall, Co Antrim, on Saturday 17 February 2018 at 7.30pm. All welcome.
Come and join us.
